Courts are ordering compensation at a scale that would have been hard to imagine a decade ago. A single Supreme Court decision, Learning Resources v. Trump, unlocked roughly $166 billion in tariff refunds owed to U.S. importers. Crypto exchange bankruptcies are returning tens of billions of dollars to customers. Class actions against payment networks, sports leagues and AI developers are settling in the billions.
What Turnpage invests in, brokers and advises on, and why the asset behaves the way it does.
The market for legal claims is going through a moment it has never had before.
The headlines are the big cases. Underneath them are the everyday ones. A supplier whose customer filed for chapter 11. A union pension plan with a claim in a trucking bankruptcy. A retailer entitled to a piece of a card-fee settlement. A college athlete owed a structured payout over ten years.
All of them have the same problem. They are owed money, the money is real, and it is going to take years to arrive.
Courts and estates move on their own schedule. Businesses don't have that luxury. Payroll, legal bills and growth plans don't wait for a plan of reorganization to go effective.
That's where private capital steps in.
Turnpage provides liquidity for rights to compensation. We buy them, we broker them, and we advise the people who hold them. The simplest description is the one on our home page: the OTC desk for rights holders.
In practice that means four things. Direct acquisition, where our dedicated capital partners let us price and close quickly in the largest cases. Auctions and reporting, where a rights holder wants comprehensive price discovery and a board-ready record of how it was achieved. Structured portfolios, where aggregating related interests into one package improves marketability and pricing power. And consulting and advisory, where a matter needs an extended team of lawyers, forensic experts and market specialists before anyone can talk about price.
Think about what these rights actually look like.
Bankruptcy claims. Trade claims, customer claims and other general unsecured claims in the largest insolvency cases in the world. Our principals have traded hundreds of millions of dollars of claims in the largest chapter 11 cases and advised thousands of creditors.\*
Class action settlements. Class-member rights in antitrust settlements, mass torts and collective actions, whether that's one large position or a portfolio of hundreds of small ones aggregated for efficiency.
Government receivables. IEEPA and Section 122 tariff refund rights, duty drawbacks, surety bond collateral interests and related receivables. We serve this market through our standalone platform, Rewind Tariffs, and have brokered or advised on over $50 million of refund claims since the Supreme Court's decision.
Litigation funding. Adversary proceedings, estate claims, competition claims, complex commercial litigation and judgments awaiting recovery. A recurring client is the bankruptcy or liquidating trustee who holds a potentially valuable claim and has no budget to pursue it.
Locked digital assets. Crypto trapped in exchange bankruptcies, regulatory freezes, smart contract exploits, hacks, bridge failures and network halts. Our team has worked in nearly all of the estates that defined this asset class: BlockFi, Celsius, FTX, Genesis, Mt. Gox, Terraform Labs, Three Arrows Capital, Voyager and others.\*
Other special situations. Seized property, trade receivables and the one-off fact patterns that don't fit a category. Those tend to be our favorites. Our team has closed transactions involving novel assets, zero legal precedent and industries facing regulatory uncertainty.
A claim sits inside the alternatives universe, but it behaves differently from most of it.
The value isn't tied to a company's future earnings. It's tied to a legal right, a court process and a pool of assets or a defendant already on the hook. Recovery is driven by how a case resolves, not how the economy performs. That makes it one of the few places where a buyer can underwrite a return that has very little to do with what rates or equities do next.
For the seller, the math is simpler. Cash today, certainty, and the risk of delay, appeal or a lower-than-expected recovery moved to someone whose business is carrying it.
That shows up in the numbers. Our principals have monetized over $1.1 billion in claims and served more than five thousand clients.\* We keep over five hundred funders on speed dial, which means when our own capital partners can't fund something, we know exactly who can.
Most claims brokers have never been on the other side of the table. We have.
I spent the early part of my career as a bankruptcy attorney at two global law firms and on the special situations desk of a leading private equity firm, then built and managed one of the leading marketplaces for trading bankruptcy claims. We underwrite a claim with the instincts of the lawyer who litigated it and the trader who has to price it.
It's why the complicated matters tend to find us first. A $270 million FTX claim with disputed ownership arising from a separate Ponzi scheme in Korea. A $103 million minority interest in government-seized crypto, loans and real estate spread across multiple jurisdictions. An $89 million rejected licensing claim structured with contingent consideration tied to the ultimate allowed amount.\* None of those fit a form document, and none of them would have closed on one.
Claims trading isn't new. But it's at an inflection point, in the same way direct lending was after the financial crisis. Tariff refunds, crypto estates and mega-settlements have pulled it from the margins toward the mainstream, and the people who hold these rights now have real options.
If you're owed money and you'd rather not wait for it, talk to us. Private, fast and secure.
Why wait?
